Philadelphia (CW Philly) — Supergirl star Melissa Benoist has taken on some intense villains, but she is about to tackle something new – Broadway. 

Benoist will be the lead in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical from June 7 through Aug. 4 at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre. She took to Instagram to confirm the news; check out her post below!

While Beautiful marks her Broadway debut, Benoist is no stranger to a microphone. Prior to Supergirl, she played Marley Rose in the musical comedy series Glee.

The producers of Beautiful are impressed by Benoist’s diverse résumé and are looking forward to her joining the team.

“We are over the moon to welcome Melissa into the Beautiful family this summer. We’ve always loved Melissa’s singing on Glee and, added to that, her great work as Supergirl promises that our audiences are in for a special treat at the Sondheim,” producer Paul Blake and Sony/ATV Music Publishing said.
