Sandra Bullock has been always been known for her charity work, donating millions of dollars over the years to different organizations with the idea of helping the world and those in need.

Bullock is the latest star to show her support for the people of Houston who were affected by Hurricane Harvey. The actress donated $1 million to the Red Cross, which was confirmed by the organization Wednesday.

“There are no politics in eight feet of water. There are human beings in eight feet of water,” Bullock said.

She added, “I’m just grateful I can do it. We have to take care of one another.”

“Having someone like Sandra Bullock make this kind of commitment, it helps bring people together and open their hearts and be even more generous,” said Red Cross vice-president of communications Elizabeth Penniman.
