Bruno Mars is ready for some football.

The “Gorilla” singer announced today (September 8) that he will be the 2014 Super Bowl Halftime musical performer when the big game comes to MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on February 2. The stadium, which is just outside of New York City, is home to the New York Giants.

Mars made the announcement on Fox–who will broadcast the XLVIII Super Bowl–before the afternoon kick-off.

“It’s just an honor,” Mars said. “We just got off tour, so being able to come to New York City and announce this is incredible.”
