While we are very excited that Katy Perry will be headlining Super Bowl XLIX, we are also looking forward to some very talented musicians that will be singing the National Anthem and America The Beautiful.

Tony Award-Winning Broadway star Idina Menzel will be kicking off the sporting event singing the National Anthem for the crowd at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona. Pop star John Legend will then perform America The Beautiful.

Taking to Twitter, Menzel wrote: “It was 1991 and I remember it well: Whitney [Houston] sings the national anthem at the Super Bowl. Almost as glorious as her voice was her huge radiant smile. I am so humbled and honored to be asked this year.”

Idina Menzel has been in the spotlight this year after she sang the hit “Let it Go” from the film Frozen.
