Boy Scout Day at the National Constitution Center

It’s Boy Scout Day at the National Constitution Center this Saturday, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Scouts from around the region can come out for a fun-filled day learning about our country at the only museum dedicated to the US Constitution while meeting scout requirements and working toward badges. Activity tables, workshops and shows will be set-up for scouts. Cost is $12-$14. One free scout leader entrance for each 10 scouts.
Children’s Music Festival
St. Peter's Episcopal Church
Rubye’s Kids, a local charity dedicated to helping less fortunate children, is sponsoring its annual Children’s Music Festival at St. Peter’s Church in Glenside this Saturday from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. (doors open at 9:30am). Come out for a day of fun for the whole family featuring great kids music, lots of singing, dancing, face painting and more fun for all. $8 per ticket. All proceeds benefit Rubye’s Kids.
Kids on 2nd Street
Local merchants and cultural organizations will offer free fun for kids and families from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Saturday. Activities include free drama and dance classes, scavenger hunts, face painting, arts and crafts and more. Locations will be marked with a red balloon to signify their participation. Stop by Arden Theatre Company at 40 N. 2nd street to receive a map of participants and complete activity list. Refreshments provided by Cuba Libre and Nick’s Roast Beef. Free.
Food Around the World with Silver Diner
It’s a celebration of food from around the world with the Silver Diner at the Garden State Discovery Museum this Saturday at 11 a.m. Come out to enjoy an all-American tasting menu. Free with admission, $10.95.
FORE! the Planet Indoor Mini Golf
Linvilla Orchards’ indoor mini-golf attraction “FORE! the Planet” continues this weekend and offers 18 holes of serious fun. This highly interactive and playful exhibit features info on environmental issues paired with the kid favorite fun of mini-golf. $6.95 for ages 11 and older. $4.95 for ages 10 and under.

Enjoy free admission to the beautiful Brandywine River Museum on Sunday mornings including this Sunday between 9:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.
The Philadelphia Flower Show
The world’s largest running indoor flower show, the Philadelphia Flower Show, has its final weekend at the Pennsylvania Convention Center through Sunday, March 10th. This year’s theme is “Brilliant- the majestic beauty and brilliance of Great Britain.” There is lots to do for the little ones with the PHS Kids Zone powered by Sprout so they can cut loose. The PHS Kids Zone is located in Room 204B and is open from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. On Sunday, kids will love the Sprout Snack happening from 3:45 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. There will be a cool family photo opp with the Bernstein Bears, goody bags and more! Tickets to the Philadelphia Flower Show are $27 for adults, $15 for ages 2-16, under 2 free.
Horton Hears a Who
The Colonial Theatre’s Young Audience series continues this Saturday with a family screening of Horton Hears a Who (2008) at 2 p.m. Tickets $5.
In the Artifact Lab: Conserving Egyptian Mummies
This unique opportunity to explore a real working laboratory features a glass enclosed conservation lab allowing visitors to see the tools of the trade and observe real conservators at work on Egyptian objects including rare paintings, ancient funerary objects and of course mummies. Twice daily, visitors can speak with a conservator (Sat. and Sun. 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.). Free with admission $6 – $12. Ages 5 and younger free.
Family Day at the Museum
The Philadelphia Art Museum hosts Family Day: Here Comes the Sun this Sunday starting at 10:30 a.m. Join the museum for yoga, music and art making with local Sprout celebs Mr. Steve and Chica the Chicken. Families will be inspired by Indian art, medieval stained glass and van Gogh’s Sunflowers to help everyone get ready for spring and warmer days. Cost is $20 per person. Ages 11 and younger free.
Family Second Sunday Workshop Etruscan Escapade
The Penn Museum continues its family second Sunday workshops this Sunday with a special Etruscan Escapade workshop where kids can design crested helmets. Free with museum admission. $12 for adults, $8 for children ages 6-17, free for children 5 and under.

Philadelphia’s annual St. Patrick’s Day parade takes place this Sunday at 12 Noon at 16th and JFK Blvd and this year focuses on The Philadelphia Irish Memorial: A Decade of Remembrance. Come out to celebrate all things Irish with marching bands, costumes, special guests, and more. Free.

Families will delight in this kid-friendly version of the Old English tale of Robin Hood and his band of Merry Men as they help the poor and save Maid Marion. Geared for ages 3 and up. Tickets $12 – $14.
