Twelfth Night Tours at Pottsgrove Manor
Enjoy a guided tour of this beautifully decorated Georgian manor house all ready for the holiday season. Come out to learn about the tradition of the English Twelfth Night and how it differs from Christmas today. Open 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. on Sunday. $2 per person.
Manayunk’s Santa On Ice and Christmas Tree Lighting
Head to Manayunk Saturday, Dec. 1st for a chance to see Santa on ice at Canal View Park in Manayunk. Santa will be available for photos in his ice-carved sleigh from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. And don’t miss the lighting of the Manayunk Christmas Tree from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Enjoy music performances, a sing along, coffee and hot chocolate and other family fun. Wassailing and Caroling Hayrides
Linvilla Orchards will hold a special wassailing and caroling event this Saturday, December 1s.at 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Celebrate this age old tradition with holiday songs around a campfire plus marshmallow roasting and hot apple cider. $5 per person.
A Family Workshop: A Holiday Feast Made of Clay
On Saturday, December 1st from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. The Clay Studio will hold a family workshop sure to be enjoyed by all members of the family. Learn how to make clay replicas of all the holiday’s best and most popular foods. Wear clothes that you can get dirty and have some holiday fun with mud this season! Geared for children ages 4 and up. Must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets $15 for members or $17.50 for non-members.
Peddler’s Village Christmas Festival
The annual Peddler’s Village Christmas Festival takes place December 1st from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. and December 2nd from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Head to beautiful Bucks County for a weekend of festive fun including a holiday parade with Santa, Mrs. Claus, local boy scouts and marching bands at 1:30 p.m on Saturday, Dec. 1st. And of course enjoy the beautiful holiday decorations in the village and live entertainment and the spectacular light display throughout the village. Free.
17th Annual Peace around the World: Passport to Cultures
It’s the 17th Annual Peace Around the World: Passport to Culture event on Sunday, December 2nd from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. at the Penn Museum. This Free holiday family celebration is open to all and will feature an afternoon of learning and fun including a Middle Eastern drumming workshop, dance workshops, poetry reading, storytelling and more all featuring different cultures and customs around the world. Plus kids will love face painting, balloon art, international family crafts, and free goodies for the kids.
Zoo Noel
The Philadelphia Zoo will host a holiday family event for three weekends this season starting this weekend Dec. 1st -2nd from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. The Zoo will be transformed into a holiday wonderland with life-size replicas of Santa as he explores his role in the rain forest, outback, and other animal habitats. Kids can have a visit with Santa in the Treehouse. And the whole family will enjoy the hot chocolate bar with cocoa available for purchase and more! Free with Zoo admission. $14 for adults and children ages 2-11. Under 2 free.
Winter Wonderland
South Street’s Headhouse district is transformed into a Winter Wonderland this Sunday, December 2nd from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. with fun and entertainment for the whole family. Delight in the annual lighting of the South Street Headhouse Holiday tree. Plus kids can meet Santa and of course get a photo (parents bring your own camera!). Families will enjoy free horse and carriage rides, a holiday market music, dance and even free ornament making. And the whole event is emceed by Philly favorite Kathy O’Connell of WXPN Kids Corner, too. Free.
