J.J. Abrams Will Return To Write And Direct “Star Wars Episode IX”

The wishes of Stars Fans have come true as J.J. Abrams will direct “Star Wars: Episode IX” after Colin Trevorrow was booted from the franchise.

“With ‘The Force Awakens,’ J.J. delivered everything we could have possibly hoped for, I am so excited that he is coming back to close out this trilogy.” Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy said during the announcement.

J.J. Abrams, who launched a new era of Star Wars with “The Force Awakens” in 2015, is returning to complete the sequel trilogy as writer and director of “Star Wars: Episode IX.” Abrams will co-write the film with Chris Terrio. Kathleen Kennedy will produce the next installment alongside Michelle Rejwan, Abrams, Bad Robot, and Lucasfilm. (via Deadline)

Rumors across the internet had either Abrams, whose “Force Awakens” was both a critical and box-office success , or Rian Johnson, who just filmed “Star Wars: The Last Jedi”, in talks to return to the franchise. According to Deadline, Kennedy was in talks with Johnson to return before he decided to turn it down.

A follow up performance to “Force Awakens” is what everyone has been hoping for and now fans are even more excited as the await the next movies.
