It seems like a simple question: Android or iPhone? However, a new study from Lancaster University says the answer could actually go deeper than how many gigabytes of storage you have. Researchers believe the answer could reveal a lot about your personality.
The study surveyed over 500 smartphone users — asking them questions about themselves and their attitude towards their mobile phone.
The results? According to the study, if you own an iPhone, you are most likely a younger, more outgoing woman.
The study also revealed that iPhone owners tend to be more likely to see their phone as a status object and are less concerned about owning devices favored by most people.
Are you an Android owner? Then the study says you are most likely an older male who tends to be more honest and agreeable in comparison to iPhone owners.
The study also revealed that your preference for Android devices makes you less likely to break rules for personal gain, and you are less interested in wealth and status.
In a followup study, researchers created a computer program that allowed them to predict what type of smartphone a person owned based on their personality differences.
