“Arrow’s” IT girl, Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) is not exactly known for being a superhero or a warrior, but on an upcoming episode she will get a chance to embark on a field operation and show what she is really made of.

But why was this particular mission given to Felicity instead of Oliver? Andrew Kreisberg, executive producer, explains “Because sometimes it takes a pretty, smart, brave girl in a hot red dress to get the job done,” He adds with a laugh, “and not a big, tough, strong guy in a green hood.”

Kreisberg describes Felicity’s field work as “hilarious,” because “in a way she’s the audience. She’s not a soldier, she’s not a superhero, she’s just somebody who’s good with a computer and gets thrust into these things.”

We know Felicity will get the job done. Kreisberg agrees adding “Emily and Felicity have filled every one of our expectations and beyond, for what this character could do for the show.”

“Arrow” is on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. right here on the CW Philly!
